One day, in my early days at the gym when I was still learning how to properly squat, I began to feel a twinging sensation in my lower back. I continued to squat and the twinge eventually turned into a full on electric shock across my back. I was in so much pain. Following that incident, I was walking around bent over for the next 2 weeks until my body was able to compensate enough for me to walk straight again. After dealing with this issue on and off again for over a year and a half I decided it was time to finally do something! I was recommended to see a chiropractor. Not knowing much about it, but hoping to heal, I went. My pain dissipated after one visit, injuries I hadn't even mentioned also went away, and I haven't looked back since. I made it my life’s mission to change lives the way mine was changed.

When I’m not adjusting I like to play video games, workout and be active, discover new music, watch anime, and travel.

I was known to frequently faint and have the occasional seizure and had never gotten any answers. I went to the emergency room and they ran test after test on me, just to tell me that I had 'syncope disorder'- a condition in which you faint. Something I knew before I went in! I was so frustrated and one day decided to see a chiropractor as my final hope. After one cervical adjustment I haven't had a seizure or even fainted in over 6 years! I continue to go to maintain my health and improve my quality of life. I've since learned that chiropractic is preventative more than reactive. It helps lessen the symptoms of my endometriosis, keeps headaches at bay, and has drastically improved the quality of my sleep.

Outside of the office I love to read, hike at Crowders Mountain, hang out with my cats, do all things artsy, and listen to podcasts.

CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT

Born and raised in Denmark, Scandinavia my husband and I originally moved to Maryland when he was offered a three-year position at his Danish company’s U.S. branch. Well, those three years turned into forever! After a job change and a growing family—from four to five —we’ve now lived in the U.S. for 23 years. Our three adult daughters still live in MD and PA, and just last summer, we made the move to South Carolina . We absolutely love the South!

After spending 10 years working in the dental field , I felt it was time to try something new. Around the same time, I was also looking for a chiropractor who offered something different than what I had experienced in the past. Carnelian Chiropractic opened that door for me . I started out as a patient and when I learned they were looking for extra help at the front desk, it felt like the perfect opportunity to explore a new direction .

In my free time, I love visiting my daughters in MD and PA , practicing yoga , pilates, and strength training , and making time for meditation
